Having injectables (botulinum toxin type A) or other skin procedures, like dermal fillers, is common place. Gone are the days when having them was something out of the ordinary. And something you felt the need to hide from others.

Millennials and Gen Zs will often have regular top-up appointments scheduled, just like for a haircut. No big deal.

Do injectables prevent wrinkles?

Many believe having injectables will help prevent future wrinkles or stop ageing signs. While it can be useful to soften your existing lines and help reduce those lines from becoming deeper, it doesn’t stop the natural ageing process. Nor inhibit other stressors that may add to the formation of lines and wrinkles, like smoking or sun exposure.

Even with a regular schedule of injectable appointments you still need to protect your skin from the sun, manage your stress levels and look at your overall health habits. For example, how much alcohol you drink or drugs you take. What you eat etc, all of which can affect how your skin is looking.
