Deciding whether you spend money on skincare products comes down to your skincare needs and what you feel comfortable spending.  We stand by the Aspect Dr Skincare range for its quality, thorough testing and powerhouse ingredients. These cosmeceuticals, mixing cosmetics with pharmaceuticals, have embraced what science and research have shown to work and blended that knowledge into a range of products to support healthy skin. Gentle and kind for sensitive skins.

Aspect Dr skincare uses science and research in its products to support healthy skin.

Go for high quality, especially for sunscreens

Especially important for sunscreens. Every year we see stories about products promising higher SPF ratings than they were providing.

Notably, the sunscreens we stock passed the testing and weren’t included in Aspect’s recall in September 2025.  Made in Australia,  the regulations are tough and sunscreen testing is ongoing.

Ingredients, concentration the tipping point when it comes to quality skincare?

It’s important to check the ingredients on the label. Sometimes products are merely aqua (water) and other fillers, plus perfume, which means they can be produced cheaply.

The thing about the Aspect Dr range is the concentration of ingredients. You only need a small amount, so each bottle lasts longer, making it more cost-effective in the long run. Most have dispenser pumps to ensure you get the right amount each time.

Dispenser pumps mean you get the right amount and only use what you need.

Budget skincare vs quality skincare

Differing opinions on the value of buying budget skincare or homemade ranges vs quality ranges, rest on whether the extra spend is worth it and how much science has gone into making those products.

What we do know is our skin has a great capacity to absorb and reflect outside influences, like the cold, drying conditions of a ski field or the drying and increased wrinkles from smoking or sunbathing. So it makes sense to use products that not only suit your skin but those that help protect it, too.

Quality skincare will help address your specific concerns such as dryness, hydration, acne or ageing. They will often have more concentrations of the same ingredients you might find in budget products.

Use products that not only suit your skin but help protect it, too.

Aspect Dr has no nasties and no parabens and loaded with ingredients like Australian superfruits. The kakadu plum is known for its high concentration of Vitamin C. Others include probiotics, hyaluronic acid (known to keep skin plump) peptides (that support collagen growth for skin firmness) retinol (studied extensively and found to be effective in reducing skin pigmentation, promoting smooth skin and plumping out fine lines) and antioxidants. Except for the eyelift cream, you should avoid the skin around the eyes don’t let any get in your eyes.

Of course, the benefits of using quality skincare take time to show. Our advice is if you find a product that works for you, stick with it. If you see improvements, stick with it. But don’t be afraid to think outside the box and experiment with products experts recommend. Start with a cleanser and a moisturiser, even a hand and body lotion.
